What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link includes a tracking parameter so the vendor can attribute a purchase to the site that referred you. When you click an affiliate link and then make a purchase within the vendor's cookie window (typically 7 to 45 days), calcnet receives a small commission from the vendor — at no additional cost to you. The price you see is the same with or without the affiliate link.

How we identify affiliate links

Every affiliate link on this site carries the HTML attribute rel="nofollow sponsored" per Google's link-attribution guidelines. Affiliate blocks at the bottom of each calculator are visually distinct (boxed with a "Recommended for this job" heading and the disclosure "We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases" directly above the links).

Display advertising

Display ads on this site are served by Ezoic. Ezoic is an ad management platform that uses machine learning to optimize ad placements and bidders. Ezoic pays calcnet a share of the ad revenue generated by ads shown on our pages. The footer of every page includes the disclosure "Ads served by Ezoic. We may earn a small share of ad revenue from ads displayed on this page."

Editorial independence

No vendor on this site has editorial influence. We do not accept payment to add, promote, or recommend a specific product within a calculator. Affiliate links are selected by the operator based on direct usefulness to the calculator's audience.

If a vendor stops being a fit (poor product, bad service, dishonest pricing) we remove the link, regardless of commission level.

Your data

We do not collect personally identifiable information through the calculators. Inputs are processed entirely in your browser; nothing is transmitted to a server. The single exception is the beekeeping calculator's optional email signup, which stores only your email address and your selected topic.
